Writing Songs
I love writing songs and improvising lyrics on the go. Sometimes we need to express our emotions and we don’t know how or when. This is where I start writing down what I feel like in the moment or start singing whatever comes to my mind.
This allows me to start creative processes which allow me to express and process whatever I am struggling with. Sometimes the best strategies arise out of it.
Here’s a text of a song I wrote about being kind and inclusive with anybody because we all want to belong.
Singing and recording
Something else I love doing is doing cover songs of my favourite songs and record them. Every song I feel i have a deep connection with, I try to sing it myself in my own way.
I often times record videos and put them on TikTok so that other people see what I’m up to and which songs are currently moving me.
It’s a nice way to perform for a wider audience and you can at any time recall this moment by watching the video.
Performing on stage
Performing on stage is another way to express and do music. Probably the most exciting one. When you have a live audience you can see an feel how people react to your music and performance. You have direct feedback and you reach a big audience at the same time.
All this makes performing on stage unique. Playing instruments and singing live gives you only one chance to do it right which puts you under pressure but makes the outcome often more entertaining.
