Lately I do a lot of Karaoke with some friends of mine. It’s simple to do. What you need:
- A room where you can make noise. Be aware that during the day you are allowed to sing in your home but from 22:00 on you need to be silent.
- A TV with the capability of using Youtube or a laptop.
- You need a Microphone. You can buy these for around 50 euros. You find them online. If you live in Luxembourg you can go to an electronics shop or you can go for example to the music store in Sandweiler located near the control station. Be careful to buy a microphone which doesn’t need Phantom support, otherwise it might not work with every speaker.
- A speaker where you can attach a microphone. Any speaker with a microphone input is fine. Just be careful if it has a XLR entry or a TRS entry. Be aware that if your mic has a XLR entry and the speaker has a TRS input you might need an adapter.
- Some friends who want to sing with you if you don’t wanna sing alone.
And your done. You are ready to go and you can start your own Karaoke sessions. Just look up the songs on youtube. You can find nearly every song as a karaoke version. Just type the word “karaoke” next to the song title. Attach your mic to your speaker and there you go. Happy singing.
Alternatively you can use your Nintendo Switch or your Sony Playstation. There are karaoke games for these consoles. Notice depending on which game you choose you need to buy mics with it as well.
